Wonchi Crater Lake Day Tour

After breakfast, depart Addis Ababa and drive west through the Ethiopian Highlands toward Wonchi Crater Lake, passing traditional villages, rolling hills, agricultural landscapes, eucalyptus forests and mountain scenery. Upon arrival, descend toward the crater lake by scenic hiking trail or optional horseback ride, with views of Mount Wonchi, small crater islands, traditional Oromo farming communities, indigenous vegetation and wildlife. At the lakeshore, board a traditional boat across the lake to visit Cherkos Monastery on the island. After exploring the monastery, return by boat, enjoy lunch overlooking the lake, continue photography, birdwatching and nature exploration, then return to the crater rim and drive back to Addis Ababa.
